Through the existing work and research with Made Smarter we have identified five themes.

Challenges will sit within one of these five themes, requiring a clear demonstration of scalability, innovation, sound business case and impact on the manufacturing industry in the UK. Industry Challenge Owners will set a focused business challenge their organisation is facing and have it solved through an industrial open-call, then down-selecting and working with innovative startups to have two exciting, cost effective, new prototype solutions built for their use.
