A data-driven planning, scheduling and resource optimisation solution to tackle the challenges of complex planning and resource management.
Safran Landing Systems is an international high-technology group, operating in the aviation (propulsion, equipment and interiors), defence and space markets. Safran’s operations in Gloucestershire focus on three main areas; large landing gear machining, medium machining and special processes. The medium machine manufacturing process specialises in a diverse array of product families requiring a range of unique and bespoke machines. Safran is interested in developing a dynamic scheduling system which can provide an intelligent rules-based system capable of reacting to changing customer demand.

TotalControlPro™ is an affordable and accessible SME manufacturing platform that enables control of varied production facilities, providing real-time visibility to the entire enterprise. It increases the profitability and productivity of the organisation via advanced planning, customer management, inventory, execution and intelligence capabilities, using cloud technology. TotalControlPro™ is committed to bringing the power of real time synchronised data to manufacturing organisations and to transform the day-to-day experience of those planning, executing and reporting across a manufacturing facility.
Despite many advances in technology, the issue of translating shopfloor know-how to top floor planning systems remains one of the biggest gaps to bridge. This dynamic, data-driven planning scheduling and resource optimisation solution tackles the challenges facing industry for complex planning and resource management. This project looks to identify best possible planning options and make recommendations to the production for scheduling. As learning occurs, recommendations become more and more accurate and responsive to the manufacturing conditions occurring, leading to precise and efficient use of resources, people, materials and machines. The solution is scalable and ultimately will assist the workforce in reducing the complexity around planning whilst understanding impact and consequences.
The solution sets out to:
“A manufacturer’s ability to produce more from less will be achieved through self-learning supportive AI algorithms throughout the supply chain. Working with Safran Landing Systems and the Made Smarter Technology Accelerator programme will enable Total Control Pro to build dynamic planning that’s available to all manufacturers, large and small.” Dolores Sanders, Strategic Director, Total Control Pro Ltd.
On 23 June 2021, the programme proudly presented the first phase insights and learnings for industry in an online event. Watch the Total Control Pro pitch here:
